April 2008

Happy Spring Family and Friends!
This time next month we'll be back on the East coast, we're all very anxious to see everyone!! It's not really spring here - it's been mid 30's. The sun rises around 7:30am and sets around 11:15pm! Lots of sun, but still a bit of snow and ice on the ground. The pond by our house started to defrost and the young boys raced their snowgo's across the water testing it. Dangerous and crazy to watch, looked a lot like jetskiing but the water is freezing! Not too much new here, getting the house, that I'll be teaching 8th grade in next year, ready to change from a house to a classroom. It's actually the house we were first in here when we arrived. So, here are a few shots of my students helping to pay it forward as they help get the place ready once a week. We also recycled for Earth Day, so there's a picture of the group with my friend Dana. Also, there's a picture of my 5.5 month belly- the baby's kicking a lot lately. The latest due date is Aug. 20. Take care, see you all soon! ~ Angie

March 08

February ended with mom heading back to SC and Cole having lost his first tooth! In March we played with friends, making snow slushies and climbing the snow hill that was created near our house. Me and a fellow new teacher, Pam, went to Bethel for the Ca'mai dance festival and got to see performers from all over dance in their native ways- even as far as New Zealand! The other pictures are of our snowmachines parked by the school, versus cars! :) The crowd of local people in the gym were gathered to watch the HS basketball team via the polycom on TV- they had a great season and Dave's already getting them in shape for next year, while Nell lays on the couch begging for some belly rubbin'! There's also a picture of me with my students making math masks out of paper mache. I'll get an updated baby shot on the next post- which may be our last for this first year. Til' then take care! ~ The Grabs
